In January 2020, Haier Biomedical was awarded by an international Organization to supply 2123 Solar Direct Drive vaccine refrigerators to Yemen. This equipment will be distributed to more than 2000 health facilities across Yemen to improve the healthcare conditions and support vaccination campaigns.

A few days ago, Haier Biomedical held the first vaccine refrigerators off-the-assembly-line ceremony of the Yemen Project at the new factory in Qingdao. At the ceremony, participants shared the difficulties they faced during production and the valuable experience on how the Haier Biomedical team united to overcome these impediments.

At the end of March, the last batch of units manufactured for the Yemen Project were completed and successfully shipped, bringing a perfect ending for the project.

The Solar Direct Drive Vaccine Refrigerator utilizes solar power to refrigerate vaccines, which overcomes the objective problem of energy shortage in remote areas and guarantees vaccine safety and security. As a long-term partner of many United Nations Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations, Haier Biomedical has provided more than 120,000 vaccine storage devices around the world, effectively saving lives. Earlier this year, Haier Biomedical opened a new factory in Qingdao to increase production capacity to meet growing supply demand.

The Yemen project coincided with the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. During the shutdown nationwide in China and anti-epidemic fight, Haier Biomedical also faced huge pressure of production capacity, but the delivery and urgency of the project was of the up most importance as the assistance was urgent for Yemen. The only solution during these difficult times was to overcome these impediments and deliver.

In order to deliver on time, Haier Biomedical employees voluntarily resumed work in advance, and the production guarantee for solar vaccine refrigerator products was resumed on the fifth day of the new year (still during Chinese New Year Holiday).

In order to ensure product quality, whether from the development team, production-line workers to the quality inspection team or the project team, they are all focused and with great determination worked hard to overcome any difficulties with a consistent and rigorous attitude.

With strict controls for the entire process at every stage of production due to the epidemic, neither quality nor safety was ignored as the entire team across all divisions worked hard to ensure that every detail was covered guaranteeing as usual Haier Biomedical’s highest level of quality manufactured goods.

From the Haier Biomedical Yemen Project Team, "During the epidemic, we went all out to ensure quality and worked overtime to ensure complete production capacity was reached. For the team, delivering one day earlier means that the vaccine safety of Yemen children was guaranteed one day earlier, which is of particular significance for everyone, savings lives is why we do this!"

The Haier Biomedical team proved this once again with actual action, delivering on time!

Up to now, Haier Biomedical Overseas Vaccine Network has worked with many United Nations Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations and local in country service providers to create a complete life cycle global vaccine solutions network. Haier Biomedical to date has assisted in the installation and operation of 150,000 units of vaccine storage equipment in more than 120 countries which ensures the health of over 200 million children worldwide by strengthening health systems and supporting immunization programs – lets continue working together to make the world a safer place for children.

Haier Biomedical insists on practicing its brand mission of combining innovation, technology, responsibility, excellence and love around the world, and will always safeguard global health with solid work and a deep concern for the global community's common future!
